At the dinner table...

We went out for dinner tonight and we decided that wanted

"Breanner"
(Breakfast for dinner)

So we headed over to Denney's!!!
During dinner I look over and Derek and I notice that his front tooth was really loose it was totally sticking out. From the side he looked like a hillbilly! It was pretty funny. Well I told him that if we don't have it out before next Wednesday I would have Dr. Y take it out at Courtney's appointment. The fear came over him and he started to play with his tooth. I asked him if he took school pictures yet and he said that they are tomorrow. I then proceeded to tell him to keep his tooth in until after his picture. Not 15 seconds later... with some gross sounds that followed he tugged a little and out popped his front tooth.

I guess the next time we need to get a tooth out, I just tell him we are going to go see Dr.Y. It was pretty funny! He couldn't believe that he had pulled out his own tooth. That is usually my job. But all I had to say about it was....

Not at the dinner table...
and
1 day before school pictures. Oh well, I guess it will be a picture that we all remember!!!

Do I have to say anything more.....

These little fruit tablets have become my very best friend!!
I have heard all the different myths out there about if you have heartburn while pregnant.
***if you have bad heartburn during pregnancy, you can look forward to a baby with a full head of hair.

Well if that is the truth, this baby is going to come out with a

FULL HEAD OF HAIR!!

Who suffered from heartburn while pregnant?
What where some of the things that you guys had to deal with!
(stay tuned for 18week baby bump in the next couple of days!)

Countdown begins...

Went to my monthly OB appointment on Thursday. I was excited for this appointment because I had several questions that I was wanting answers for and that I got to schedule my ultrasound appointment. My Dr. is sticklers when it comes to wanting the patient to be 21 weeks before they do the ultrasound.
So October 16th is the big day.
A lot of people have been asking me if I am going to find out what we are having... and I just have to laugh. If you really knew me you would know that there is no way I could go the whole pregnancy without the proper planning. It is killing me now to sit and just wait and not really be able to get the things done. So when it gets closer to Oct 16th... I will make a post for you guys to make a guess of what I am having. It is going to be a lot of fun!
Also at the appointment while the Dr was listening for the heartbeat we heard this loud THUD. The Dr. started to laugh and said that I might have a football star on my hands. The noise was a kick from this little guy. He was surprised that I didnt feel it. He told me that any day I should be feeling that kick. I am excited for that day!!!
16 1/2 week stats....
*5.5in long.... weighs 4oz
*In the next few weeks, baby will double his weight and add inches to his length.
*Babies legs are much more developed, head is more erect than it has been, and eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. Babies ears are close to their final position
*heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day
Things I am experiencing...
*I get a headache a day. Talked to the Dr. about that and it is either that I am not drinking enough water or a result from the congestion that I still have in my head.
*Still VERY congested. The Dr. said that it will probably be a problem the rest of my pregnancy because of the mucus membranes are in overactive mode and since I had a bad sinus infection at the beginning it probably wont go away!
*For my birthday all I wanted was maternity clothes... I couldn't bare to ware my old jeans anymore.
*I have never really been a bathroom goer... but now I look for the nearest restroom.

Mother/Daughter Night w/ Stake Patriarch

Tonight was Mother/Daughter night at young women's. They invited the Stake Patriarch to come and talk with the girls about Patriarchal Blessings. It was really need to hear what he had to say. The thing that really stood out to me was what he said the very first thing.

WE ARE DAUGHTERS OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER...
and he loves each and every one of us.

How many times have I heard that in my lifetime. How many times have I stood in YW's and repeated those words. I have know those words are true but for some reason tonight they really meant something to me.
He talked to the girls about what they needed to do to prepare to receive their blessings, the steps they take and what a Patriarchal Blessing is. I sat there and wondered how long had it been since I read my own blessings. The first thing I did when I got home was pull it out and read it. I remember reading it and it would talk about children and bearing them in health and strength and for the longest time I put in my mind that it meant in the world to come. But just like the scriptures we have to read those blessings often. Those are our own personal scripture and I need to read, ponder and prayer about those blessings that have been given me. What comfort to know that I will bear in health and strength my own child. That phrase means so much more to me know that it ever has. Those blessings are going to mean different things in all the different areas of our lives. I would suggest that if you haven't read your blessing in awhile or if you haven't received your blessing. To do so! The blessings that will come into your life is amazing!!!
What a great experience both Courtney and I had!
