Don't ever grow up...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLE BEAR...
I have been making videos for everyones birthday's for the past couple of years so this one was a lot of fun to make but it also brought a lot of tears...
(Don't mind the splitting of the song, didn't blend well but oh well.. you get the point)

Guess who has a BIRTHDAY...

You can NEVER GUESS WHO TURNED

1
TODAY!!!!!!

My little Cole Bear....
Oh just looking back on this year brings tears to my eyes.  My little guy is growing up so fast and I know it is impossible to stop time.

We has a birthday party for him last weekend.  I wanted my family members who could make it come down for it and this was the weekend that most of them could make it!  It was such a great weekend having some of my brothers and sisters there along with Grandma Black.

I knew with all of Cameron's family and my family and the friends we wanted there to share Cole's birthday with him that it was going to be a crowd.  My first thought was to have the birthday party at the church so it wouldn't be so crowded but I was talked out of it and we had it at our house.  Lets just say that there really wasn't much room to move.
Well Cole is a lot like him mom and doesn't like a lot attention on him so when it came to opening presents with everyone around him he really wanted nothing to do with it!!
I am sure when he gets the concept that there are toys under that paper that he will forget all about people watching him.

Here he was pushing a present away...
What a STINK!

Finally warming up to the idea!!!

When I started thinking of what kind of theme I wanted for his birthday I saw this Old McDonald Theme and I fell in love with it!  So I had to think of how I would make his cake and with searching on the Internet this is what I came up with...
MISTER COW CAKE!!!
Mom and Dad got Cole the Little People Farm which made for an adorable center piece!  Then I made cupcakes for everyone else!!!
It was cute how everyone kind of added to the theme with their presents.  Grandma Black bought him this rocking horse that you can see next to the table.  It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.  You push his ears and he rocks, makes galloping sounds, nays, and even wags his tail!
SO CUTE!!!!

Funny story about these balloons.  He was PETRIFIED of these balloons for some reason.  Every time he got close to them he held on tighter and wanted nothing to do with them.  Well we kept them around for several days after the party and by the end of the balloons lives, he was obsessed with them.  He couldn't get enough of the balloons!  Whenever he came into the room that he knew they were in that is what he wanted and he would do anything in his power to get to those balloons!

Then came the CAKE TIME...
all you have to do is take a look of his face to realize how that went over...

A little daring here....

Dad shoved his hand in the cake (Yes Dad was there even though there is no proof of him) and he hated that!!!

"ITS MY PARTY AND I CAN CRY IF I WANT TO....
and he did, believe me!

Yep, you guessed in right into the hair!!!

Don't mind my face... I guess I was trying to convince him that it was
sooooooooooo GOOD!!!
He still didn't buy it as he was pushing away the cake !
He is the light of my life... what a joy it has been to have him come into our family!  He has grown so much and has gotten so big!
 I LOVE BEING A MOM!!!

Valenties Day 2011

VALENTINES DAY 2011

We went really really small this year for Valentine's Day since it was the day after we got back from our vacation.  We thought a trip to Mexico was gift enough for all of us!!

So here is the table ready for the kids to get home!

BAD LIGHTING!!!!

We got Courtney and Derek a box of chocolates and we wrote them a little Valentine!

Cole went with me to go shopping for the kids and when I went down the Valentine isle he saw this puppy and he fell in love with it at the store.  He would not let it go and he kept giving it hugs and kisses!  How could I not get it for him... hey, he didn't go on the cruise so he I spent a little more on the stinker!

The kids favorite meal for Valentines day is
Strawberry and Banana Crepe's
THEY LOVE THEM
and Derek informed me that the strawberries are in a shape of a heart if I cut them right!!!

The kids showing their excitement for MORE PICTURES!!!

and.....................

HE STILL HASN'T LET IT GO!!!!

 He wakes up with it!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL!!!

DAY 7... Venice Beach

DAY 7...
A DAY AT THE BEACH

We decided to go to a beach that we have never been before so we thought
VENICE BEACH
would be good!
Well lets just say the beach itself was fantastic!  It was gorgeous and the kids had a blast!  But the atmosphere around the beach wasn't so good.  We knew that we were going to see some freaks but we saw more
"DR. is in... medical Marijuana sold here"
signs than we would have liked to see.
It was cool to see the "muscle beach" and the huge skate park!
We even saw so wino bums wearing home made Rollerblades playing the base guitar with a portable amp!  He was a show in himself.  Derek now is very grateful for all he has, he has seen more homeless people digging out of trash cans than he would have liked!  The look on his face was sad... He truly felt for those people!

Derek once again loving the ocean~
I swear he will live by the ocean someday!

They wanted their own kind of Chinese Theatre!!!
CUTE

We loved the rocks behind Courtney with the waves slamming up against them.
It was so gorgeous there!!!

We didn't come prepared for the beach.  Who would have known that in Feb you can go to the beach and actually
GET IN!!!
So we let Derek get totally in, shorts and all!
Love this picture with the surfer in the background!!!

She really wasn't dressed appropriate for getting into the ocean, but she loved catching some rays!!!

ANOTHER GORGEOUS PICTURE!!!

Here we are right on the boardwalk.!!!  We will return to the beach but stay for away from this place!!!

SO here is the last picture of our vacation...
Derek and Courtney loved the plane ride.
We have been informed that we no longer will be driving to California
IT TAKES TOOOOOOOOOO LONG!!!!!

THE MEMORIES WE MADE ARE PRICELESS!!!
This vacation is something we will remember forever!

Day 6.... HOLLYWOOD, CA

Day 6....
HOLLYWOOD HERE WE COME!!!!

After we got off the boat we decided to take the kids to Hollywood.  All the times we have gone to Disneyland we never have made it up that way.  Once we got to the area we wanted to be at we found a place to park and headed into Hard Rock Cafe for lunch!!!

In the past couple of months Courtney had become a HUGE Beatles Fan.  They had a whole area dedicated to
The Beatles...
Courtney was in heaven, and she was wearing her Beatles shirt on the right day!!

And again... Derek with the lemons!!!

After lunch we made our way to the Chinese Theatre.  Courtney was so excited to find the hand prints of Johnny Depp.  So we had to search and search until we found it!!!

 Will Smith....

FINALLY..... Johnny's hands!  She said she wasn't going to wash her hands ever!!  I hope she realizes that she isn't the only one that has put her hands in that cement!!!

When we were finished with the Chinese Theatre we started walking down Hollywood Blvd to look at the stars on the sidewalk.  We ran right into Jimmy Hendricks.  ;)
 and..............
Michael Jackson.
Cameron has come to the conclusion that Michael Jackson staged his death and decided to spend his time on Hollywood Blvd.  I was pretty amazing and creepy at the same time of how much he looked like Michael.  His actions, movements and voice was SPOT ON!!!
After looking for all the stars that we wanted to we decided to spend the money and walk with
The Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum.

It was actually a lot of fun to see all the different wax figures!!!  Some looked so real and then others were OK!!!

Of course can you figure out who was so excited to see this figure????

 This one looked so good!!!!

 Austin Powers...

This one was A LOT OF fun....

FUN FUN FUN FUN

 This one was fantastic!!!

What a goon

This kick some booty girls....

"I'll never let go Jack, I'll never let go..."

Here are some stars that we saw....

It was a real fun day.  Something different and something the kids have never done before!!!
