Day 3...FIRST DAY @ CABO SAN LUCAS

CABO SAN LUCAS

When we woke up... this was the view!
WHAT A SIGHT!!!
Cameron wanted to go see Cabo Wabo.
It is a bar that Sammy Hagar created (Singer for Van Halen).  This is one of Sammy's favorite places.
It is a pretty famous place.  But Cameron didn't want to go into a bar with the kids, he wanted to be a good example.  Even with me telling him to get in there and take a look around he stood strong!!
(Don't mind my hair I am getting ready to ride ATV's)
When we went through a lot of the swap meets the one thing that Derek found that he really wanted was a handmade bracelet with his name one it.  For some odd reason they had every other name but his so the guy and to make it.  It was pretty interesting to watch him create it so fast.  Derek was amazed!!

Here we are getting all our "GEAR" on to ride the ATV's.
REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST!!!

Of course they had to give me the
BRIGHT YELLOW GOGGLES..
make me look like a
BIGGER BUG!!
We couldn't leave until Derek climbed this rock!!!

What a view!!!
Derek again in the sand...
HE IS SUCH A BEACH BUM!!!

When we first took of from the shop that we got the ATV's it was right off a main road and in the desert... the we took about a 15 min trail ride single file following the tour guide and once we turn a corner this is what we saw... the OCEAN.  It was gorgeous!  This beach was so secluded that we were the only ones on it!  The tour guide gave us about 20 mins of free ride which was a blast!!!

Derek wanted a picture of him looking like a BANDIT!!!
What a kid

Just sitting back watching dad do crazy stuff on the ATV... no worries we got insurance!  We all know how Cameron loves to ride

Then we took another trail ride and it took us to the sand duns on one side and the ocean on the other.  This was the best spot because we had about 45 min of free ride and we went all over.  This fit right into Cameron's top 5 things...  He had a blast!!!  If there was a steep hill to climb he climbed it, if there as a jump to jump off he jumped it!

It was just amazing the difference in scenery with just a turn of your head 90 degrees.  Desert and Sand duns on side and beach, ocean and whale watching on the other!  I could have stayed there all day!
While Cameron and I were off goofing off... the kids wanted a break so they wanted to sit in a covering and just play in the sand.  This was our tour guide Tomas... He was so awesome.  The kids feel in love with him from the very beginning.  He was telling them all about Mexico and what the kids to their ages and how the school systems work.  He told them that his wife was Derek's height and he little 9 year old boy, same age as Derek came up to Derek's symbol on his shirt.  Little little family!
WHAT A GREAT GUY!
If we ever do the ATV's in Cabo again we want Tomas!!
We had to tender into Cabo.  That is when our cruise boat anchors out in the middle of the ocean and little TENDER boats take us to land.  This was a picture from the tender going back to our ship!!!

What a great day.  The kids did really know what to expect when they got to Cabo.  They were a little overwhelmed when the minute we got through customs we started to get yelled at.  Everyone wanted us to go talk with them, they had the better deal.. BLAH BLAH BLAH!!  It got really old and then when we got the markets and we started to haggle them about prices they both looked at us like we were being rude.  But hey you have to do what you have to do!
I think they both had their eyes open to how good they both have it.  They are both grateful for being an American that is for sure!
What a great experience for them!!!
