Awesome adventures ahead...

Coles first 72 hours of life....
Of course he is a little angel and this pictures proves it!

He has found his favorite position to sleep. Do you think he will be into football and making a ton of touchdowns? He has the arm position down!!

Meeting his BIG brother for the very first time. Derek was so excited to see that he does look just like him. But we have to remember the Cole looks like Derek and not Derek who looks like Cole. Yesterday Cameron was holding Cole and called him "Buddy" and Derek answered. That is what Dad calls Derek. So we have to find another name for Cole.

Courtney can't get over how little his is!
He is ready to face and conquer the BIG, BAD, World!!!

Very content after his first bath at home.
Right before his first bath... ( I couldnt get the pictures to change positions)
He wanted to show you all his serious side!!!
This is a Daper Dan that Aunt Christy gave him. You will see pictures of Daper Dan and Cole and see the growth of Cole. I saw it on another blog that I read and it is amazing how fast these little guys grow.
He has been a blast. As of right now he has been the perfect baby! Lets see if the continues.

He is FINALLY here...

So we got the phone call last night to expect a call to come in between 11-12pm. So I got up today and decided to take a really long shower and just relax. I got a phone call at 9am asking if we could make it in between 9:30- 9:45. I laughed because we thought we had some time so Cameron ran to work for a couple hours. I asked if it would be OK if we got there at 10am and they were fine with that.
MY HEART STARTED TO RACE...
I AM GOING TO BE A MOM TODAY!!!!
We get there at 10am and it takes a good hour or so for all the paperwork and the checking me in and hooking me up with everything.
I knew if they just broke my water that I would go into labor, but the Dr. wasn't going to be there for 2 hours or so, so the nurse started a very small amount of Pitocin and checked me and I was at a 4.5cm. I started to feel the contractions right away. I didn't realize they were contractions until I looked on the screen and yep.. they were! I have been feeling those for 2 wks! Wish I would of known! The Dr. showed up and "TRIED" to break my water but he was only about to get a small tear in it. Coles head must have been right on it, keeping it from breaking. But from there I started to feel the contractions a little stronger. About an hour later I am 6.5cm. The nurse was amazed at how fast I was dilating. An hour after the last check I was at a 9+... and she said I would be pushing in 30 minutes.
WHAT... pushing, is this real???
The pushing started and Cole did not like that. His heart rate kept going way down after each push. So we stopped for awhile and waited for the Dr to get there to asses. From the time the Dr. got there I pushed about 10 contractions, 3 pushes each and he was out!

Valentine's Day with the Henke's

Happy Valentine's Day
Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day
I wanted this year to be something a little special for Courtney and Derek.
So I heartattached their doors and made their very favorite dinner
(Strawberry and Banana Crepe's)
When Derek realized that his door was decorated the hunt started to find his special Valentine. I didn't think it was that hard since I put them on their plates for dinner.

If you know Derek then you know how much of a LEGO and CHOCOLATE fan he is. When he got his little Valentine he ripped into the chocolate and then in the middle of making his Lego car he said.... "I knew today was going to be the best day EVER!!!" It made me feel good. But it goes to show that you dont have to do much to show your love to your children.
Courtney loves Tinkerbell so I knew the t-shirt would be a hit!!!

Would you call it a blessing....

So yesterday after church I was thinking that I would probably like a blessing from Cameron. Just because of the risk of Toxemia and from some of the comments and things that family and friends have said... it didn't sound so fun. Then also if I went to the Dr. and he did send me over to have this little guy I wanted a peace of mind that everything was going to be OK. So in the blessing it said that Heavenly Father has his own plan and he knows when it is right to have "my son" come to the family. Then he also blessed me with health and strength during my delivery. That both mother and son will be watched over and will have a safe and healthy delivery. Well we go to the Dr. today TOTALLY packed and when the nurse took my blood pressure I knew that there was no reason to have my bag. It was back to normal and just a TRACE of protein. It is amazing how Heavenly Father works.
That is why I titled it... Would you call it a blessing???
I would have loved to been told that I need to head over to the hospital and have this baby but instead my heath is great and I was told to head home and enjoy this time! UGH!!! So that is what I am doing. I will put it in Heavenly Fathers hands and know that Cole will be in my arms sooner that later! I am just so anxious. I don't know if it is nerves, the unknowing or the uncomfortable stage I am in that makes it so hard. Probably all three!! We will keep you all informed!

38 1/2 wks and COUNTING...

So here is the update....
Went to my appointment last Thursday. For a week before that appointment I was really feeling like I would deliver this little guy Friday the 12th... well as you can tell by the date on this post that has come and gone. It is now Saturday the 13th. Let me explain how determined I was to have this little guy. At my appointment I had my membranes stripped. People were telling me how painful this was. I wasn't in any kind of pain what so ever. So I thought that my Dr didn't really do it. But after about an hour I started to get a little crampy so I knew that something was done. That night I made Cameron take me to the mall so I could walk. When we got there... you would think I was in an Olympic event... pregnant speed walking. About half way around the mall I started to get this pain down in my pelvic area and contractions. I was sooooo excited! So I just kept going and going and going. Not realizing I was just causing damage. The contractions weren't getting stronger or closer together so we decided to call it a night. By the time we got home I couldn't even get out of the car I was so sore. Yesterday was a joke even trying to walk around let alone going up and down my stairs. So I call the Dr to see if I put Cole into any danger and the nurse said I should be fine... that it was Round Ligament Syndrome and I just irritate it. Her exact words were....
Lets just take it a little slower because "You aren't a spring chicken anymore!"
RUDE, at this point the way I am feeling, I don't need a nurse to tell me that! But with that phone call she said that the Dr's wanted to move my appointment to Monday instead of Thursday. Back at my appointment on Thursday I had high blood pressure. It wasn't in the dangerous zone yet... but very close 138 over 88 and that I had some protein in my urine. So they want to keep an eye on my pressures. So I start to do my research and it looks like I am at the start of Toxemia.

I could of guessed this... just take a look at the picture below...
what do you think...

This is a picture of one of my ankles and foot. This was taken this morning before it gets bad. Went over to a friends house last night and we were laughing because it looked like a water wienie!

OH, the joys of being pregnant.

So getting back to my appointment this coming Monday. They are checking me again and if things are still progressing to Toxemia then they will probably send me over to see if Cole is ready to make his presence into this world. Lets all hope he is. There are so many people that are waiting for his arrival.

So who out there has had Toxemia with their pregnancies? How does it effect delivery, and post delivery. How does it effect the baby?

The Final Eviction notice....

Saw this on another blog and thought.... hey, that is exactly how I am feeling right now!!!

Dear Baby Cole,

Your current eviction date of February 25th, 2010 has been set for 9 months. In the past few months, I understand that you have become extremely comfortable in your dwelling. Unfortunately, I did not discuss some of the key points of your lease with you.
The late night dance parties were not discussed in your lease, and they've been keeping me awake through the night.
The blockage of a numerous amount of pipes and the leaking of others has to be put to an end!
Also, as far as adding square footage to the dwelling, we discussed a reasonable addition. You have surpassed that by much more than we discussed.
I have prepared another home for you to reside, so don't let house hunting be the reason you stay. Should your eviction date come and pass, please note that I will use forceful measures to remove you. I would like for this transition to be as painless and quick as possible. Please don't make this any harder than it has to be.

Love,
Mommy

Nursery is DONE...

We finally got Cole's nursery done....

I think it turned out really cute!

After moving the kids around in the different rooms. We had the extra twin bed. So we decided to put the bed in his room. I think it will come in handy when I am up on those sleepless nights and when we have family come visit!
We decided to go with a sports theme. Got the bedding at
BABIES R US
and the sport decor I got at Hobby Lobby...
I love that store!

I want to thank my friend Eileen for the help with the vinyl.

Great quote for all of us to live by...

Never let the fear of stricking out

keep you from playing the game!!
