ISLAND PARK
BLACK FAMILY REUNION
JULY 21-24th
For Christmas last year we all decided to pitch in and give something to my mom that she would really want.
So we pulled together and planned this family Reunion.
We are so lucky to have Bryant in our family.
He and his dad built this cabin over the past couple of years and so we were able to go and enjoy time together!
The first thing we did was get all dressed up and we had a family picture taken.
I don't have those back yet but I am sure I will be posting them soon!!!
After the pictures were all done we all went out to eat at some Mexican restaurant in Rexburg, ID.
It was delicious!
YUMMMMMYYYY!!!
Then we headed up to Island Park.
We got there pretty late so we all just started to unpack and get ready for bed.
The Cabin was GORGEOUS!
We are all so thankful for the Searle's in letting us have it for the weekend.
It had 4 bedrooms and seemed like it slept 50 people!
In the bedrooms were even cribs!
So we went to bed and we woke up to breakfast and Derek DYING to go 4 wheeling!
I don't think Derek slept a wink... he was dreaming of ridin!!!
and so was DAD...
that is all he wanted to do this reunion... ride and shot his guns!!!
Grandma Black had so many things planned for the kids. I think she went overboard but in her eyes she can never do too much for his grandkids!
She did this thing called
"GRANDMA BUCKS"
It was all the adults had this paper dollars and when we saw a kid doing something nice or doing what they are told they got a grandma buck and she had a little store and the store opened twice and day and they could turn there grandma bucks in and buy something from the store! Such a cute idea... THANKS EMILIE!!!
The kids loved it. We had no fights when it came to getting dressed, cleaning up, eating ALL THEIR food and doing what they were told. They all wanted GRANDMA BUCKS!!!
Then we all did several crafts. Here is Cole and I making him a necklace! He was so into putting those beads on that string.
Courtney making her necklace
and Cole showing off his finished project!
Grandma and Aunt Hailey even put together a SCAVENGER HUNT!!!
There was game time
This was what the adults played every night...
99...
It was a blast. Thanks Dallas in teaching us this fun game. I don't think we have laughed so much in a very long time. We needed this time together!
From years past we took the idea that my aunt did at our last family reunion and made a
SNIPE HUNT.
We (Courtney, Derek, Savanna, Quinn and I) broke open those glow in the dark things and put it on rocks and up the trees and in the bushes and then had the little kids go on this Snipe Hunt. They were all so into it! We had Uncle Dallas and Uncle Cameron hiding in the trees and every once in awhile they would throw something in the trees and the kids all thought it was SNIPES jumping from tree to tree. They all tried they hardest to find those darn snipes!!!
Then the next morning came along and you guessed it...
MORE 4 WHEELING!!!
all the little kids loved getting on with Grandma and the mom's while the men went to the shooting range and took their aggression out on targets!!!
NO PICTURES OF THE SHOOTING RANGE..
Grandma even got on one... all the kids thought that was so cool!!!
Courtney finally decided to get her nose out of her Kindle and join the family! She got on that 4 wheeler and for the rest of the day and night didn't want off!!!
I am sure it was a little boring for her because there was no cousins her age... but she was a real trooper!!!
Cole LOVED LOVED LOVED the ride!
He kept putting his hands in the air and yelling at the top of his lungs... YIPPEE!!!
Here were some of the pictures that we had on Derek's and Cameron's rides!
THEN CAME THE DIRT....
WE HAD DIRT EVERYWHERE
This doesn't even show how dirty Cameron was!!!
It wouldn't be camping if a little boy didn't get dirty!!!
The three cousins just months apart!
We even had bike rides!!!
But I think the best part was the time we all spent together!!! We all had a blast and we cant wait to do it again next year!!!
| Bryant broke his hand just a few days before the reunion and got his cast the day of pictures!!! What a great sport!!! |
Thanks Byrant and Myka for taking the time to help make this reunion a hit!
IT WAS THE GREATEST!!!!
