Jeanne was the person on my mission that we called "Mamma". Not only did I call her that but every missionary that served in her area did.
She took care of each and every one of us like we were her all children.
I will always remember the Christmas I spent away from home... she made it so special. She made it so much easier for us to be away from out loved ones!!!
When I think of my mission and the memories that I had there she is in a lot of them.
Clinton, CT was one of my most favorite areas...
After I came home just shortly after she moved her family to Hurricane, UT. It is so sad that once life got started again, school, husbands and kids you just loss touch with people you love.
Last April (I think) Jeanne met an amazing man and with this man came an amazing journey for the both of them. They got married in October and through hard work and faith, they entered the waters of baptism yesterday.
So a lot of the missionaries that served in that area came down to witness this amazing miracle.
Here is a picture of the me, Jeanne (Mamma) and Sue...
SISTER THOMAS!!!
LOVE THIS GIRL!!!
She is hilarious and it doesn't matter how long it goes from us getting together it just seems like days have past!!!!
When I heard that there was a Micheal Jackson Cirque show at Vegas and I told Cameron that I really wanted to see it. So we were planning on going later on in the year.
Then we heard that the last day that it was in Vegas was December 27th. So we started to make a plan and make it come together.
We asked my mom if she would come down from Idaho to watch Cole and she jumped at the chance.
We invited some friends and the trip was planned!
Here is just a video of some of the show.... this doesn't show it justice.
I am a big fan of Micheal Jackson... so I KNEW that I was going to love the show.
Cameron not so much of a fan.... BUT, he loved it too!
It was that good.
Who cant sit and watch a Tribute to Micheal Jackson and not get into the music and the dancing!!!
WOW
IGNORE THIS ONE... I CANT GET IT TO DELETE OFF!!!!
If you want to see just still pictures of the show... then you will like it!
Here are a couple of pictures of the stage and theatre...
SO AWESOME!
If you haven't had a chance to see a Cirque show... I would say it is a
MUST SEE
Before we went to the show we went out to dinner at a
Wolfgang Puck Restaurant...
YUMMY YUMMY
The next day we wanted to hit a All-You-Can-Eat Buffet!!!
So we hit the Internet and wanted to go to one that was top ranked!!
The Wynn was ranked in the top 3 and so we headed over there to eat.
We knew it was going to be a little pricey but when we got to the register the total about took my breath away!
I have never had a dinner that was that much. It isn't usually that much but because it was a Holiday week they up ed the price $20 a person!!
OUCH...
BUT OH SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!
The crab legs were cut for us... all the work was taken away!
Cameron was amazed at the Prime Rib.
That night we got tickets for the
PENN & TELLER SHOW.
We are still talking about the magic that they did. Their show is all about showing you behind the trick.. showing you how it was done.
But since they are sooooo good and show fast with the hand we walked away more confused than if they just did the trick.
I am sure that was the point!!!
We thought it was way cool when we come out of the show and there was
PENN AND TELLER taking pictures with the fans.
The cool thing is that we finally got to hear Teller talk.
WHO KNEW!!!!
Last year for Christmas we did a family cruise so there really wasn't very many gifts... so this year I wanted it to be different... so I WRAPPED EVERYTHING!!!!
The kids eyes when they came downstairs was priceless!!!
Usually Santa doesn't wrap his gifts to the kids but he did this year... everything except Cole's and the Kinect that we left us all set up downstairs!
Cameron for the first time EVER surprised me.... he was so sneaky when it came to getting me presents this year.
I was shocked when I opened up a Kindle Fire, Shark Steamer ( I have wanted one forever) a coat and a trip to Vegas to see Michael Jackson Cirque Show!!!
I was so spoiled!!!
Courtney's big present was a Netbook... she was so excited!!! It was fun to finally get something for her that she had NO IDEA about. Lets just say we scored on Black Friday!!!
Derek has wanted this K'nex Roller coaster kit for years.... but we told him that as soon as he could set it up by himself and maintain it without the help from dad that he could get it.
So this was the year... He stayed up the night we got back from Idaho until it was totally set up. Then he couldn't wait for all of us to wake up the next morning to show it how it worked.
He has BIG BIG plans in the future to buy all the rides!!!
The way that this kids mind works in amazing!
HE HAS A BIG FUTURE AHEAD OF HIM!!!!
Since we had to drag Cole out of bed it took him a little bit to get into the mode of opening presents... but once he realized that there was cool stuff under that paper he was all over it!
Once we got all the presents opened up and played with a little bit, we got ready and then hit to road to spend some time at Grandma Blacks!!!
This is what Grandmas most...
ALL HER GRAND KIDS!!!!
Courtney and Derek have a hard time because all the kids are so much younger than they are but they are good sports about it!!!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year!!!
I can't believe how fast this year went... it will just seem like yesterday when I am blogging about Christmas 2012.
This year was our year to have Courtney and Derek for Christmas. So we get them Christmas Eve night.
So we spent the night with Cameron's family with dinner, and gifts from Grandma Fisher.
After the celebration there we headed home to spend some time together.
One of our traditions like many others is to open one present that night... and of course you can guess what that present is....
(LOVE THIS PICTURE OF THE KIDS)
After opening presents we found a cute gift that Cole's babysitter gave him.
It was reindeer food...
there was a cute poem that talked about going outside and sprinkling this food on the lawn. We always remember to give cookies and milk for Santa but we always forget about the reindeer and they get hungry too!!
SOOOOO CUTE!
Cole had a blast spreading it all over!!
Here he was calling for the Reindeer!!!
Telling them to come here...
He says... "meer, meer... and motions with his hand!
Then they came in and got their P.J's on.
I have never seen Derek so excited before.
After they went to bed a couple of minutes later he comes downstairs telling us his stomach felt weird. We were afraid that he was getting sick but he just said that it felt like butterflies flying around.
We chuckled a little and told him to get back to bed that he was just excited for the morning.
Then about 11:00pm he woke up again and we told him to grab a sleeping bag and sleep in our room... and from there every hour on the hour he asked us if it was time to wake up and see what got for Christmas!!!
It was our friends Christmas party last night and instead of wearing a couple of UGLY sweaters we decided to go as Grinch's.
The night was a lot of fun!
I would say the best part was the food, friends and WHITE ELEPHANT GIFTS!
There were some real crazy ones this year!!!
One of the ones that we did was we bought a box of chocolates and we opened them up... stuck our finger in a couple of the cream filled ones and ate all the Carmel ones!
LOVED IT!!!
We came home with a
HANGOVER VEGAS Shirt for Cameron
and 43D Black and White UGLY bras!!!
Cameron sure had a lot of fun with them!!!
We are so blessed to live in a neighbor like we do surrounded be some of our very best friend!!!
You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.

God gives us dreams a size too big so that we can grow in them.
Cole
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Nelson Mandela
