Zumba Addiction.....

Can I have an addition from the first day of trying something out??? If so, then I am addicted! I have seeing this Zumba class at the Rec Center that I go to and it looked really fun. So the other day my friend Amy txted me and asked if I wanted to try it out with her. We went this morning and it was so much fun. If any of you are wanting to switch up your workout routine... ZUMBA is your answer.
If you havent heard about it... here is a definition that I found...
A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps mainly derived from Latin music. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt the body. It targets areas such as the gluteals, legs, arms, abdominals, and the heart. Participants do not have to know how to dance to do Zumba. The move combinations and Latin rhythms strive to create a party-like atmosphere - a more "feel happy" workout than may be experienced in other group exercise class types. A Zumba class is typically not formulaic in that instructors often add on their own music choices and choreographies to make their class presentation locally unique.
Who would of thought that I could be a latin dancer... haha (I'm not... you should see me try and keep up)
They said that in a typical class you can burn between 600-1000 calories during a class. The time FLEW by and I had a blast.
THANKS AMY.... I can't wait until Tuesday!

Glenwood Springs, CO..... We made it!

We have been planning a trip to Glenwood Springs, CO for a couple of months now... and last week was the time we were going to go. We arranged with some friends to meet us there and spend the weekend with us. Well thursday came and we looked at the weather and saw that it was going to be awful traveling there... while we were there and then coming home. So we decided to postpone the trip. We emailed our friends and told them we weren't going to go and that we would plan another time that we would all get together and go. Well Friday Cameron got home from work and there was an email letting us know that they decided to go anyway and it was amazing. The weather was amazing, the water was amazing and that we were missing out and they wished we were there. Well we both decided that we would pack up and go. So friday night about 7 we got in the car and we drove to Grand Junction, CO. Saturday morning we woke up and went the rest of the way.

Can I just say that.... that we love

****GLENWOOD SPRINGS****

Here the kids are... so excited to get out of the cold and into the warm water. You can still see the snow on the mountains... IT WAS COLD!

Here Derek is after we got out.... he was too cold to smile. The little goofball!

Courtney and Derek with their snorkle gear!! I was surprised at how well the caught on to snorkling! They loved it! I guess we have to now take them somewhere that they can actually see fish!

I love this picture... gotta love the hair. That wasn't planned... that is what he looked like after he took off his mask!

After our fingers couldnt take the salt water anymore we got out and toured the sites of Glenwood Springs. We went to the grave site of Doc Holiday. It was a little hike up a hill but it was a lot of fun to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

Top of the mountain, looking over the valley!

After the hike my Uncle Ray told us that we needed to go into this old Hotel that several of our Presidents and many other famous poeple came to visit. People use to think that these Natural Hot Springs were a cure all for many illnesses. That is why Doc Holiday came and where he died and also many other people. The Hotel Colorado was built in the late 1800's and on their walls have pictures of everyone who has stayed there. Derek asked us if it was a haunted hotel and right after Cameron said no... the pipes started to creek and crack... we all got bright eyed and then laughed! It was a good time.

Finding joy in the climb of our mountains

Do you ever get in a daze while driving and get lost in the lyrics of songs. It doesn't happen to me a lot but today it did. I was driving home from the store and this new Miley Cyrus song was playing on the radio... The Climb.
OK I am so turned off by Miley right now but for some reason this song really hit hard. It even brought tears to my eyes. It made me realized that there will always be a hill or a mountain to climb, there will be uphill battles to overcome and sometimes in my life I will lose and that is OK. It doesn't matter why you are climbing or what is waiting for you on the other side... what really matters... Is The Climb, enjoy life and the journey you are on. The last conference President Monson gave a talk on Finding Joy in The Journey... Maybe that is what I will focus on this next week!

Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.
President Thomas S. Monson

Oh the sound of power tools....

We have been in our home for 2 1/2 years and we are finally getting to finishing our basement. We have been going back and forth in our decision to finish it. The last couple of weeks we have been really feeling like we need to finish it. Courtney is getting to the age that we don't think it is fair to kick her out of her room when we have company staying with us. So with this room and bathroom finished in the basement we will have a guest room for whoever wants to come and visit... HINT HINT HINT!!!!
So yesterday one of Cameron's friends is a custom home builder and he said he would come over and help us frame it. So all day yesterday Cameron was down helping. They both did an amazing job and FAST TOO. So now we will have to do the electrial, dry wall, tape and texture and paint in the next little while. We are going to do it has we have money to finish it. We dont want to go into debt for this room. We also need to purchase a shower, toilet and vanity! It will be nice to have the whole house done!!!

Courtney and Derek had a blast putting all the scraps of wood in the truck!
We would go outside and there were more scraps on the driveway that they build into things than scraps in the truck!
So everyone out there... we love company now we have PLENTY of room... Hope to see you all soon!

WHAT WAS I THINKING....

For the past couple of months Cameron has been wanting to get a drum set...Derek has been wanting to learn the drums. So Cameron has had it eyes open for a drum set. Well last week he finally found one on KSL. So on friday they took a trip and picked it up. I was gone at the overnight scrapbooking get-together and I went home for a few minutes to see it... but first I HEARD it! WOW, it is really loud. We are needing to finish the basement and SOUND PROOF it!!! The longer we have it, the more I am getting use to it.

Derek is SOOOOOOO excited!!!!Cameron drummed in Junior High and High School and has been wanting to get back into it. I really never realized at how good he really is. He bought some DVD's to get him back on track. He is also Derek's teacher. Derek has really picked up on the beat and everything. He walks around the house counting...

Digital Scrapbook pages....

Since we have been home from our California vacation I have been working on digital scrapbook pages from the pictures we took. It has been a lot of fun. I am going to go to an over night scrapbook get-to-gether tomorrow night and I will hopefully finish the vacation then. It has been a lot of fun putting personality to the pictures that we took.
Tell me what you think!
What is your favorite page?

Girls Weekends.... with a 2 1/2 year old!!!

I got a phone call on Tuesday from my mom letting me know she was coming down to visit this weekend. She was also bring my little niece with her. My sister has her hands full with 3 kids under the age of three so we thought it would be nice to give her a break for a weekend. I answered the phone Thursday afternoon from Kenadee herself letting me know she was on her way to visit her Aunt Shayna.

We had such a fun weekend... it was just Aunt Shayna, Grandma, and Kenadee. I let me tell you... she was SPOILED!!!
First thing we did was take her to the Hello Kitty store ... I never thought that a little girls eyes could get so big!!
Then off to The Build-A-Bear Workshop... and of course she had to pick another Hello Kitty but this one she names.... "BUBBLES"
She is already a little DIVA...

After all the shopping we decided to paint out toes... she was insistant to paint her toes purple and her fingernails pink...

It was a great weekend..... She is such a doll... I am lucky to have chance to love her!

She loves her Grandma....

Here is the Diva herself...

If you have noticed the pink purse in each picture... that is the purse her mom bought her to come down here and put $5 in to spend on whatever she wanted. She has NEVER let that purse out of her sight! She is hilarious!!!
ALSO... the hair... she has the most amazing hair a girl could ask for. We thought she would grow out of her curls but they have stayed. I was telling that she got her hair from an Angel because it sure didn't come from our side of the family!!!
