Derek had his first Pinewood Derby on Tuesday. He was so excited!!!!
Cameron and Derek spent a lot of time together getting this car just right. Derek sat down and designed it on paper first. There was a lot of paper and eraser but after what seemed like forever... he got it just they way he wanted it.
I thought the sketching of the car took a long time... that was before the paint job. He knew exactly what he wanted and how it was to be done.
He got a Silver Metal and this certificate
Watching each race and then turning back at the information board to see what place and how fast his car went. The joy on his face was priceless He is already talking about how he is going to do his car next year. Where he needs to place the weights so he gets 1st place.Here is one race... far right end
